From Orphan to Lawyer

As Seattle's first social realtor, every sale with Chapman Homes helps a person in need at no additional cost to you. See how it works HERE.

Trace and Jennifer, I have so enjoyed representing you on your recent home sale. Now your adventure to Virginia begins. So excited for you guys! Your sale is now helping to fund the work of Orphan Relief and Rescue, an organization working to end injustice and see every child restored to their true value. Sackie (see story below) has been through much but with mentorship, housing, and lots of love he has been empowered to do great things!

Orphan Relief and Rescue fights for justice in populations of children that no one else is serving by combating child trafficking, abuse, and needless suffering.

One of our programs is called the Greater Opportunity Mentorship and Scholarship Program. Through this we are making sure children in orphanages are aging out of these children’s homes in a healthy manner.

We want to tell you about a young man named Sackie who grew up in an orphanage that Orphan Relief and Rescue has helped for 13 years in Liberia West Africa, due to both his parents dying when he was very young.

When we met Sackie, the orphanage he was in hardly had any food and was in very bad conditions due to a 14-year civil war. These terrible conditions were due to rebels stealing everything from the orphans. The children were suffering greatly. Orphan Relief and Rescue helped his orphanage that had 85 kids get on a feeding program.

Orphan Relief and Rescue also renovated his whole orphanage so that all the children could live in sanitary conditions.

Today many of these children are now graduating from High School. Sackie is currently in his 3rd year of a University Law Program. He is working towards becoming a lawyer and is doing great in school. He said his goal is to become the best lawyer Liberia has ever seen. We believe he will achieve this goal. He told us that the reason he wants to become a lawyer is because he wants to help those who do not have the resources to help themselves and are never given a fair trial because of their poverty. He wants to fight for justice for the underprivileged of his country.

He is currently receiving a scholarship through Orphan Relief and Rescue for his schooling, housing, and food to get him through his studies. His yearly amount needed is $3,800 USD. Orphan Relief and Rescue can help him due to people donating towards these education efforts. We have allocated your donation towards Sackie’s education funds so that he can continue in his law program. A donation from the Ferre home sale (via Chapman Homes) has helped make a huge difference in this young man’s life, who will, in turn, help others in his country of Liberia.

Thank you for making this possible!

Sackie is now working on this Law Degree!
