Orphan Relief and Rescue: Grace's Story

As Seattle's first social realtor, every sale with Chapman Homes helps a person in need at no additional cost to you. See how it works HERE.

Orphan Relief and Rescue fights for justice in populations of

children that no one else is serving by combating child trafficking,

abuse, and needless suffering.

Orphan Relief and Rescue is working to end injustice and see

every child restored to their true value.

One of our programs is called the Greater Opportunity Scholarship

Program. Through this we are making sure children in orphanages

are aging out of these children’s homes in a healthy manner.

We want to tell you about a young lady named Grace who grew up

in an orphanage that Orphan Relief and Rescue has helped for 15

years in Liberia, West Africa. Her story is one of survival. She was

born in 1998 in the middle of a 14 year civil war that ended in

2001. Her father died during this war, and her mother gave birth to

triplets (which is super rare in Liberia). Grace was the only child

that survived of these three babies. Her mother was left paralyzed

and could not care for her. Grandparents helped raise her until their

death, at which time she was brought into the orphanage as a

young child.

When we met Grace, the orphanage she lived in hardly had any

food and was in very bad conditions. This orphanage home was

squatting in a displaced camp. The children were suffering greatly.

Orphan Relief and Rescue helped purchase property and built an

orphanage home so that the children would have a permanent safe

place to live. They were also put on a feeding program at that

time.

Today many of these children are now graduating from High

School, Universities, and trade schools. Grace is currently in her

final months of a Nursing Program. She is working towards

becoming a full time nurse in her country. She is loving her

schooling and is excited to soon be finished. She wants to give

back towards those in her country who are in need.

She is currently receiving a scholarship through Orphan Relief and

Rescue for her schooling and housing. Orphan Relief and Rescue

can help her due to people donating towards these education

efforts. We have allocated Chapman Homes donation towards

Grace’s final educational payments due for her last quarter of

schooling.

Thank you so much for making such a huge difference in Grace’s

life, who will in turn help others in her country of Liberia.

Thank you for making this possible!
